I am a ‘local lad’ having been born and raised over the border in Gloucestershire. I moved with my wife Linda to Ashton Keynes in 1986. We now have three grown-up children, Rachel, Jacob and Harry, and two granddaughters. Attending Holy Cross Church regularly, I joined the church choir, was a member of the PCC and served as a Churchwarden for a total of 8 years.
I worked in IT for most of my working life, studying part-time for a BSc Degree in Computing. Being made redundant from Swindon Borough Council in 2005, gave me the opportunity to respond to God’s call to Licensed Lay Ministry, and I was licensed in February 2010. I regularly preach and lead church services, participate in Open the Book assemblies at school, help with Messy Church in Ashton Keynes, and officiate at funerals.
Music & sport have always played an important part in my life. I have sung in church choirs for many years and played guitar and double bass in several bands. I played rugby for Cirencester for nearly 30 years, and now enjoy tennis and golf when time permits. I am involved in many social activities in the Village, including singing in the Village Choir, attending the monthly Village cinema and drinking the occasional pint in the White Hart. I also belong to the Twinning Association, Friends of Holy Cross, the Tennis Club and the Cricket Club.
