Cricklade and Latton work with St Mary’s Catholic Church and Cricklade United Church through a Churches Together Initiative.
The aims of this group are:
- To deepen understanding of each other’s traditions
- To cooperate in spreading knowledge of the Christian faith
- To share resources for a more effective service to the community.
We are supported by Wiltshire Churches Together, which oversees ecumenical projects and we are part of a nationwide movement working for greater love, tolerance and cooperation between different Christian denominations.
Here are just some of the projects that we are working on together:
- Publishing the Cricklade Chronicle and delivering it to every home
- Organising Lent Groups together
- Running Holiday Club once a year for local children
- Supporting CAREC & Food Bank together
- Collecting money for Christian Aid and Cafod and supporting One World Week and Fair Trade for Justice
- Celebrating Maundy Thursday and Good Friday together
- Taking part in the Christmas lights switch-on
- Supporting each other in whatever way we can
The core members are the three incumbents, John Coole (Treasurer) Suzi Tipper (Secretary). We welcome anyone from the churches to come to the meetings.
We believe that whatever your background and wherever you are from, there’s a place for you in one of our churches.
